Josh Quill is a second-generation Hispanic immigrant, born in rural upstate New York. The son of factory workers, Josh’s family often struggled to put food on the table. As a child, Josh gave back to his community as a Boy Scout, ultimately earning the rank of Eagle Scout. In 2004 as his Eagle Scout Service Project, Josh packed and sent boxes of supplies to active-duty military deployed in Iraq.

After graduating high school, Josh enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he spent 10 years in service to our country.

After leaving the service, Josh began working in the Department of Veteran’s Affairs (VA) and has made a career ensuring that the men and women who have risked their lives in service to our country receive the assistance and benefits that they need and deserve. In 2018 Josh was honored to receive an appointment by the Trump Administration (Schedule C) where he was able to improve Veteran’s benefits programs at the highest level.

During his time at the VA, while balancing a career and a young family, Josh became the first person in his family to earn a college degree. Josh earned his bachelor’s degree in Political Science from American Military University and went on to earn two master’s degrees: one in Legislative Affairs from The George Washington University and the other in Strategic Communications from Columbia University.

Today, Josh continues to work with Veterans and their families across the country helping them navigate Veteran benefit programs and ensuring that they have the tools they need to thrive and achieve the American Dream for themselves and their families.

Alongside serving his country and his fellow Veterans, Josh has always made time to invest in his family and his community. Josh takes pride in coaching his son’s soccer team, being a Cub Scout leader, and serving in leadership for the Prince William County Republican Committee. Josh resides in Gainesville with his wife, Jessica, his seven-year-old son, and his two-year-old daughter.
